Automatic transmission oil additive to remove jerks and shakes during shifting in automatic transmissions, reduce noise and vibrations, protect gears and bearings against wear.

It also helps to restore belt tension in CVT (continuously variable transmissions), eliminate chain slips, extend service life of cones. Suitable for any brand of gearbox and for any type of transmission fluid.

Atomium AGSB is chemically neutral and doesn’t change properties of transmission oil.


EFFECTS OF APPLICATION

Atomium AGSB restores worn out friction surfaces in various sections of a gearbox. A new metallic layer appears which is more hard and smooth than original surface. Also it is able to retain dense oil film. This improves operating of different mechanical systems. Particularly it allows to solve following tasks.

IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS


TO ELIMINATE DELAYS (JERKS, PUSHES, KICKS) DURING GEAR SHIFTING

One of most often causes of shifting delays in automatic transmission is low oil pressure due to the wear of oil pump. To shift gears electronic controller sends a signal to valves in hydraulic block to close some of them and open others. Closing valves removes oil pressure from one friction pack and it gets released. At the same time oil comes through newly open valve and bring pressure to another clutch pack and lock it. If oil pressure is low locking of the second clutch happens with a little delay. For a split of second the torque is lost, car wheels slow down. When torque is caught back the speed of input shaft is faster than the output ones which gives feeling of unpleasant jerk or kick.

Atomium transmission additive restores internal parts of oil pump, which helps it to provide nominal outlet pressure level. Clutches are locked in proper time which resolves the problem.

No matter at what gear shift the delay happens as it happens because of the same common reason. Restoration of the oil pump helps all of them to work correctly.

TO REDUCE NOISE AND VIBRATION WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS RUNNING

The metal protective layer created by Atomium AGSB restores the shape of the gear teeth. It ensures their correct and smooth engagement. A dense and permanent oil film retained by treated surfaces also makes the contact of teeth softer, decreases friction and wear. All this leads to a reduction in micro-impacts, ensures smooth interaction of the gears of the planetary transmission and thus reduces the noise and vibrations.

There is no matter at what exact shift the noise is most distinct and loud. All the gears are lubricated by the same all and Atomium AGSB will treat all of them. The only difference is that most worn out and consequently noisiest parts take longer to recover.

Atomium additive in the same way restores bearings races making them work quieter.

A dense oil film on the surfaces of the teeth ensures their smooth entry into and exit from the engagement, which reduces energy losses during transmission operation. This leads to a reduction in fuel consumption.

TO RESTORE THE CHAIN TENSION

Restoring the geometry of the CVT cones, as well as retaining a denser layer of oil on the surface, can prevent chain slippage. It decrease jerks when picking up speed, makes acceleration stable and fast, sufficiently reduce speed of further cones wear.

It should be noted that the transmission oil used in continuously variable transmissions contains special additives that improve the grip of the chain and the surface of the cones. Thus, improving the performance of the lubricant does not weaken the friction between the chain and the cone, but on the contrary: the denser the oil film on the surfaces of the parts, the better the grip.

TO EXTEND THE SERVICE LIFE OF THE UNIT

The protective layer on the surface of the cones has got higher microelasticity and microhardness. Therefore the surface of the cones treated with the compound is much less frayed during use, which prolongs the life of the unit.

HOW IT WORKS

Friction surfaces of metallic parts are not completely plain. On the microlevel there are micropeaks and hollows. When two surfaces rubbing each other they first contact by peaks in multiple points. In small area around such point there happens to be very high temperature and pressure.

Atomium AGSB contains special minerals. When they get into area with high temperature and pressure they get able to activate electronic links in the metallic surface. Thanks to that small particles of metal from the oil are getting attached to the surface. This process repeats in different points gradually creating a solid continuous protective layer all over the surface. The particles of the mineral itself remain in the oil and continue to affect the surface in other areas.

The protective layer is characterized by a porous structure with a large number of micro-hollows. They are filled with oil, which forms a continuous film on it due to surface tension forces. It is able to withstand increased loads on the breakdown, does not drain, even when the unit is idle for a long time. The protective layer itself wears out much slower than the original factory surface due to increased microhardness and microelasticity.

Optimized friction clearances and permanent dense oil film improve performance parameters of the treated mechanism.

HOW IT WORKS


Auto gearbox additive AGSB must be added once to the transmission oil through the standard oil filling hole. To continuously maintain the recovery effects it is recommended to add the compound with each regular oil change in the transmission.

WHAT IS CAUSE OF GEAR SHIFTING DELAYS IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION?

Modern automatic transmission, regardless of the manufacturer, is a complex device that combines the operation of several different systems. Even not considering the torque converter there is a mechanical system of several planetary gears, clutch packs and shafts. It is managed by hydraulic system that provides the application of forces to compress clutch packs. And all this is controlled by electronics with sensors and processors.

However, the most common cause of incorrect operation of the automatic transmission is wear of the oil pump, which causes a drop in pressure in the hydraulic unit. At the moment when the electronics indicate a gear change, certain valves are opened and closed in the hydro-block, allowing the oil to enter the channels and transmit pressure to the corresponding clutch package. If pressure is low, the compression is not fast enough, there is a delay of switching, the frictions scroll and for some time the box does not transmit the torque properly.

It feels like a jerk at gears shift. Sometimes it is said that "the box is kicking" or "there are bumps when shifting". This jerk occurs at the moment when the clutch package is finally locked and begins to transmit torque, but the speed of rotation of the shaft has already fallen.

Treatment of automatic transmission with tribotechnical compound can eliminate these problems.

Problems with the automatic transmission can occur for a number of reasons. One of them is the wear of gear teeth. When their interaction is disrupted, coming in and out of engagement get micro-shocks, which cause unwanted vibrations and noise.

DOES TRANSMISSION OIL ADDITIVE RESOLVE GEAR SHIFTING DELAYS FOR SURE?

Aside the common problem described above there may be other reasons of jerks and kicks of automatic transmission.

First of all it is quality and quantity of automatic transmission fluid in the gearbox. In time oil is collecting dirt and metallic particles and may loose its viscosity level. There may be some oil leaks decreasing its level. Oil filter may be clogged lowering the pressure. Or the transmission fluid may be overheated due traffic jams and loose its ability to transmit torque. There are no auto gearbox oil additives which could help with this kind of problems. You should change oil and filter.

It is highly recommended to use Atomium AGSB compound immediately after oil change. It will restore worn out gears, oil pump, bearings and protect your transmission for a long time.

Other reasons of troubled gear shift is mechanical breakage of some details. There may be problems with solenoid valves – distortion of their channels, deposits etc. Clutch packs may be heavily worn out or burn out and require more pressure that pump is able to provide. The whole hydro block may be distorted because of gearbox overheat. Even some external parts may affect smooth gear shifting. It may be for example worn out engine and gearbox mounts – the gearbox is tilted at switching from parking mode to drive or reverse ones and it results in a jerk.

Again – no transmission fluid additives are able to help here. You should check up and change parts. Add Atomium AGSB after the repair to avoid the same problems in the future.

Sometimes the reason of jerks may be caused by electronic controller. It may be broken itself, or to get wrong information from sensors. It will lead to mistakes in gearbox operating. Here you need a through checking of the car on a service station.

APPLICATION

AGSB – automatic transmission oil additive is designed to protect against wear, extend the life and restore the characteristics of automatic gearboxes, including variators, of any type and with any type of transmission oil.

Atomium AGSB compound should be added to the automatic transmission or in CVT just once. In case if a transmission fluid replacement is planned - change it first and then add compound to the new oil.

Follow the procedure below:

Automatic transmissions of all types are processed as follows:

Warm up the transmission to operating temperature (normal operation) by regular drive.
Turn off the engine.
Carefully mix the bottle with the compound, so that the sediment at the bottom is distributed throughout the entire volume of the liquid.
Fill 1 bottle of AGSB product into the transmission through the standard fill-in neck.
If the volume of transmission fluid in the box is more than 10 litres, fill in 2 bottles of AGSB.
Right after adding the product, make a trip by car for 20-30 minutes in usual driving mode.
Then you can us the car as usually. For long, trouble-free transmission operation it is recommended to use the AGSB after each regular gear/transmission oil change.

Precautionary measures:

Does not pose a health hazard under normal conditions of use.
In case of skin contact, wash the exposed area with warm water and then with soap and water.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.
In case of contact with the digestive system, consult a doctor.
Notes:

Shelf life is 5 years. The date of manufacture is indicated on the bottle.
It is not recommended to use it for mechanical failures of parts and assemblies, in particular when the friction plates slip.
AGSB transmission oil additive is compatible with all types of transmission fluids.
Oil additive does not interact with the transmission clutches, does not affect their wear and performance.
The sediment at the bottom of the bottle is the main working element of the AGSB tribo-compound - microparticles of minerals. It is important to thoroughly mix the contents of the bottle before use. (The colour of the sediment may vary from light green to black depending on the production batch).
An overdose of 1.5-2 times is not dangerous for the transmission and does not disrupt its operation.
The composition of "automatic transmission" does not affect the characteristics and condition of parts made of composite materials, ceramics and rubber products.
